Subject: Oil Filter Recommendation for All Competition Coupes - VRL, World Challange and Fia GT3

It has come to the attention of Dodge Motorsports, from field reports and Dodge Motorsports dynamometer tests that the current recommended oil filter: Wix # 51085, can balloon and split open under cold start conditions. Wix has confirmed this can be a problem The NAPA Gold filter # 1085 is made by Wix and will exhibit the same behavior.

Dodge Motorsports recommends avioding the use of the Wix 51085 and NAPA Gold 1085 filters. Based on Dodge Motorsports burst, flow and pressure drop testing we recommend the Fram HP3 oil filter for use in the Competition Coupe.
